The media industry is essentially comprised of television, radio, the press and the internet. There are a wide range of jobs available in the industry such as Media Assistants, Media Administrators, Event Co-ordinators and Media Personal Assistants and Secretaries.
Whatever your role, it's likely you'll be either assisting a team whose job is to build awareness of their own or a client's brand by identifying and implementing the most effective means of advertising in the media, or you'll be working directly for a media business such as a TV company, a newspaper business, an online media company or a radio station ensuring that their operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Jobs within the media industry are very popular and are usually over-subscribed in terms of applications and employers generally have a large pool of candidates to choose from. It's therefore very important that your CV is in tip-top shape and highlights any media related experience or qualifications you have gained over your working career.
Once you've got your foot in the door of a media business as part of their administrative function, it's possible to progress your career and you may find yourself being promoted to become a Media Planner, a Media Buyer, PPC Search Executive, SEO Executive or an Account Manager.
