Customer Service Administrator

My client, a well established business based in Bishop Auckland, is looking for a Customer Service Advisor to join their busy and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working collaboratively across departments and takes pride in providing a first class customer experience.

In this varied role, you will be responsible for handling customer orders, managing queries, and resolving complaints or issues efficiently and professionally. You will play a key part in ensuring orders are processed accurately and customers are kept informed throughout the journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the sales and production teams to enhance the overall customer experience
• Support the order coordination process to improve efficiency and effectiveness
• Ensure all data entry is accurate and completed within required timescales
• Manage order amendments from the point of original order receipt
• Provide customers with updated delivery dates and order confirmations
• Review customer requirements and ensure delivery performance targets are achieved
• Provide customers with estimated delivery times and weekly delivery reports
• Communicate openly with customers where delivery targets cannot be met due to production issues
• Support the order processing team during busy periods when required
• Assist with resolving transport related issues and maintaining service standards
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and procedures
• Share knowledge and best practice across teams
• Continue developing technical knowledge through training and learning opportunities
• Ensure all work is completed in line with company quality standards

Skills and Experience Required

• Previous experience within a customer service or order processing role
• Experience using enterprise resource planning or manufacturing resource planning systems, alongside Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work at pace whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
• Strong problem solving skills with a proactive approach
• Confidence when handling challenging situations or customer complaints
• Commercial awareness and the ability to influence positive outcomes
