About the Role

We are looking for a highly organised and commercially minded Production Administrator / Estimating Assistant to join our team in Bolton.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, specifications and processes and is interested in developing a career within estimating, costing and production.

You will work closely with our Estimating and Bidding Team, providing essential administrative and technical support throughout the estimating and tender process. The role would suit an experienced administrator with an interest in manufacturing/engineering, or a recent engineering graduate looking to build a career in estimating and commercial costing.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the estimating and bidding team.

• Assist with the preparation and submission of quotations and tenders.

• Review customer enquiries, drawings, specifications and supporting documentation.

• Help gather information and pricing from suppliers and internal departments.

• Assist with material, labour and production cost calculations.

• Maintain accurate costing, quotation and tender records.

• Input and update information on internal systems and spreadsheets.

• Liaise with production, purchasing, engineering and other departments to obtain relevant information.

• Assist with monitoring tender deadlines and ensuring quotations are completed on time.

• Prepare reports, schedules and other documentation as required.

• Help maintain accurate product, material and pricing information.

• Support the team with general administration and coordination of production and estimating activities.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Highly organised and methodical.

Comfortable working with numbers and detailed information.

Confident using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

A good communicator who can work effectively with different departments.

Able to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.

Naturally curious and keen to understand how products are made and costed.

Commercially aware and interested in developing their estimating skills.

A proactive team player with a willingness to learn.

Engineering Graduates Welcome

We would particularly welcome applications from recent graduates with an engineering degree who are interested in developing a career in estimating, costing, tendering or commercial engineering.

You do not necessarily need previous estimating experience. What matters is a strong numerical and analytical approach, attention to detail and the enthusiasm to learn.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Strong attention to detail.

• Good numerical and analytical skills.

• Good written and verbal communication.

• Competent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.

• Ability to organise workload and meet deadlines.

• A genuine interest in estimating, costing and production.

Desirable:

• Previous experience in administration, manufacturing, engineering or estimating.

• An engineering or technical qualification.

• Experience working with quotations, purchase orders, bills of materials or costing.

• Knowledge of manufacturing or production processes.
