Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK is looking for a Finance Administration Assistant to join the Cost Management team at its Burnaston manufacturing plant.

You don't need previous finance experience. If you're strong with numbers, confident using Excel and have a good eye for detail, Toyota will provide the training you need to build your career in finance.

About Toyota

Toyota's Burnaston plant is one of the UK's leading automotive manufacturing sites and has been part of the local community since the early 1990s.

The site is home to more than 2,000 team members and plays an important role in Toyota's European manufacturing operations, producing vehicles for markets around the world.

You'll be joining an established finance team within a highly structured manufacturing environment, gaining practical experience that goes well beyond basic administration.

The Role

As a Finance Administration Assistant, you'll support the Cost Management team across a variety of finance, accounting and cost-control activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting Finance Specialists with monthly accounting activities and cost tracking
• Preparing and checking financial documents, quotes, invoices and cost information
• Reconciling invoices against original quotes and investigating discrepancies
• Supporting cost recovery and claims processes
• Helping prepare monthly accounts and reporting packs
• Supporting journal preparation and posting
• Dealing with cost and finance queries from across the business
• Supporting purchasing activities, including raising and approving orders
• Assisting with stocktake preparation
• Maintaining accurate records and Excel spreadsheets
• Working with engineers, finance specialists and other teams to resolve queries
• Supporting project-specific cost tracking and reporting

The role will give you exposure to different areas of finance, including accounting, cost management, reconciliation, cost recovery, purchasing and project finance.

What we're looking for

This is an entry-level opportunity, so previous finance experience isn't essential. Toyota will provide job-specific training.

We're looking for someone with:

• A-levels including Maths, ideally grade A or B
• Strong working knowledge of Excel
• Good numerical and analytical ability
• Excellent attention to detail
• The ability to collect, organise and manage data accurately
• Good problem-solving skills
• A hands-on attitude and willingness to learn
• Strong communication skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Drive, enthusiasm and a flexible approach to changing priorities

A full UK driving licence may also be required depending on the area of the Cost Management team you support.
