We have an opening for a Business Support Officer to join our client, Warwickshire County Council.

What does the job entail?On behalf of Warwickshire County Council, Pertemps Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a Business Support Officer to join the Highways Development Management team. Working alongside other Business Support Officers, you will provide administrative support to a team of 24 officers responsible for managing development proposals affecting Warwickshire's highways network.

You will achieve this by:

  • Managing the Section 38 inbox and responding to enquiries.

  • Processing Section 38 and Section 278 Agreement requests, including associated payments.

  • Processing Section 38 and Section 278 Technical Approval applications.

  • Managing the highway consultation inbox.

  • Recording and processing consultations received from District and Borough Local Planning Authorities via Smartsheet.

  • Acting as the first point of contact for enquiries and directing non-development management queries to the appropriate service area.

  • Managing the receipt and financial administration of pre-application advice requests from developers.

  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting the smooth running of the team.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?
  • Previous administration or business support experience.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience managing inboxes and processing high volumes of information.

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and work with databases.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively to deadlines.

  • A proactive and professional approach to work.
