Role

• Reporting into the Head of Communications, you will be a key player in the Council s Communications function

• Develop, implement and evaluate integrated communications strategies and solutions to promote and support Harrow s services, policies and objectives, manage reputation, change behaviour and promote resident engagement.
• Uphold and promote the reputation of Harrow Council in traditional and digital media
• Advise senior officers, members, colleagues and external partners on a range of reputational and communications issues
• Work with senior officers and senior councillors, including the Leader and Portfolio Holders on public affairs and lobbying campaigns
• Contribute to the communications teams income generation targets
• Answer media enquiries in a timely fashion and effectively use the media to promote Council services, policies and objectives
• Play a key role in the production of high-quality promotional materials and Harrow s main communications channels (internal and external) including the Harrow People magazine, MyHarrow enewsletter, social digital media, the website, intranet, yammer, and staff newsletter.
• Identify positive stories about the work of the council and its staff, through effective relationships across the Council and Members.
• Support/lead on the delivery of consultations corporately
• Act as the Council s lead liaison with stakeholders communications teams
• Support the delivery of internal communications and staff engagement, reviewing staff feedback to assess the effectiveness of staff communications.
