Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) are seeking a Business Support Officer to join their Prevention and Protection (P&P) team. This role is crucial for providing high-quality business support services that are customer-focused, flexible, and timely. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the P&P Management Team through performance reporting, analysis, and the identification of service improvements.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide support to the P&P Management Team by pulling together performance figures and updating inspection records.
  • Assist in the coordination of community and business engagement activities, including campaigns and events.
  • Act as a point of liaison for the public and key partners, handling complaints and facilitating communication.
  • Engage with a wide range of external partners, including local authorities and private sector representatives.
  • Support various teams, including those managing high-rise buildings, water teams, and mechanics.
  • Contribute to the improvement of operational processes and service delivery.
  • Handle occasional important calls that require effective triaging.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a competent administrator, capable of supporting managers and teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with service partners such as trading standards and police.
  • Strong skills in data extraction, analysis, and assessment.
  • Experience in a role that involves regulatory or compliance elements is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to achieve agreed objectives and outcomes.
