Senior Business Support Officer

  • Hourly Rate: £13.67 PAYE
  • Location: Sheffield Centre, Hybrid (2-3 days in the office)
  • Job Type: Full-time/Interim

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Senior Business Support Officer to join our public health commissioning support team during a crucial procurement cycle for sexual health services. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-focused, adept at managing multiple tasks, and thrives in a fast-paced, confidential environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Administrative & Diary Support:

    • Provide proactive diary management, ensuring efficient scheduling and conflict resolution.
    • Handle incoming queries, answer low-level enquiries, and escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Procurement & Project Support:

    • Assist in the procurement process for Sexual Health services, maintaining accurate documentation and timelines.
    • Prepare for and coordinate logistics of market engagement events, including venue arrangements and attendee management.
  • Record Keeping & Documentation:

    • Maintain precise and up-to-date records, ensuring no gaps in documentation.
    • Organise and streamline existing documents and file structures for clear audit trails.
  • Meetings & Minute Taking:

    • Support quarterly strategy meetings with agenda preparation and distribution of materials.
    • Take accurate minutes during contract-related meetings and ensure follow-up on meeting actions.
  • Quality & Governance:

    • Ensure all processes comply with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
    • Identify and address any urgent issues or potential risks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain high-quality records.
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proactive and reliable, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn new systems and processes related to procurement.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a Local Authority or NHS setting.
  • Background in procurement, contract administration, or governance.
  • Experience in coordinating events or large stakeholder sessions.
