Are you an organised, proactive administrator who enjoys supporting young people's development and helping a busy school run smoothly? our client is seeking a School Secretary (Co-Curricular) to play a key role in the coordination and administration of their wide-ranging co-curricular programme. This is a vital position that supports pupils' pastoral wellbeing and personal development by ensuring the smooth operation of clubs, activities, and wider enrichment across the School.

This role offers variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to be part of a friendly and supportive administrative team at the heart of school life. As School Secretary you will work closely with the Deputy Head and be responsible for managing co-curricular registrations, maintaining SOCS (School online communication system) activity systems, and supporting key aspects of school administration.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality PA support, including diary and email management

  • Managing co-curricular administration on SOCS: attendance, registers, pupil sign-ups, reports, and weekly analytics

  • Coordinating peripatetic lesson schedules and supporting billing processes

  • Liaising with staff, pupils, and parents to ensure efficient communication

  • Supporting co-curricular events and productions

  • Contributing to the smooth daily running of the School Office

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Strong administrative experience

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines

  • Highly organised, thorough, and reliable

  • Excellent written and spoken English

  • Confident user of IT (Microsoft Office and databases)

  • Professional, warm, and welcoming manner

  • High level of confidentiality and discretion

  • Smart, professional appearance

  • Ability to represent the School's aims and ethos

Desirable:

  • Understanding of Safeguarding & Child Protection

  • Experience working in a school environment

  • Familiarity with iSAMS or similar MIS (training available)

The postholder is expected to promote and safeguard pupils' welfare and ensure a safe working environment. Flexibility and a willingness to take on additional tasks to support the School Office are essential.
