Our client is looking for an experienced Business Support Officer

3 days in the office and 2 days off site. One of the days will be Wednesday.

Knowledge of the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005

Ability to use IT systems e.g. Civica APP, Flare or anything similar

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Processing of a wide range of licence and registration applications including alcohol and entertainment, special treatments, gambling, animal licences and marriage premises.

2. Enforcement of unlicensed premises and activities, from warnings to giving evidence at court and licensing hearings

3. Ensuring licensed premises are compliant with the terms and conditions of their licence.

4. Work some evenings and weekends to visit licensed premises as part of the Night-Time Economy Team

5. To work with internal and external partners to achieve compliance and safe licensed

premises.

6. To write committee reports and present the report to members at licensing hearings

7. Answering queries from members of the public, applicants and licence holders on licensing issues

8. Host public meetings to conciliate issues between residents, responsible authorities and applicants.

A relevant degree in an appropriate discipline or an equivalent academic or other relevant qualifications with relevant experience will be considered. Evidence of

continuing professional development

2. Knowledge of the statutory functions and obligations placed on a local authority in relation to services provided by Licensing, Environmental Health and Trading

Standards.

3. Knowledge of regulatory framework governing services provided by Licensing, Environmental Health and Trading Standards.

5. Knowledge of the impact of inner city issues on regulatory matters and an awareness of national trends as they effect and licensing issues.
