| Description: | Breast Screening Administration Manager (XN05) Weare looking for an experienced admin manager to effectively manage theadministrative operation of the Leeds and Wakefield National Breast Screeningprogramme. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a national screeningprogramme. Werequire someone who has acquired administrative skills and excellentorganisational and interpersonal skills. The post holder should have apassion for providing a quality service and demonstrable skills in addingvalue to a workplace. Thepostholder will be responsible for the day to day management of theadministration staff to ensure a full and effective administration andsecretarial service is delivered. Main duties of the jobEnsurethat the administrative team works consistently to departmental protocols,maintains National Quality Assurance standards, and complies with Trustpolicies and procedures and bring sub-standard performances to the attentionto facilitate the effective operation of the service. Thepostholder will engage and maintain positive relationships with Primary Careorganisations and commissioners of the service. The postholder will plan,organise, implement, maintain and review office systems and procedures toensure an on-going system of performance management exists which supports theachievement of high standards and a motivated workforce with the appropriateskills and attitudes for a responsive and flexible service. Theywill take responsibility for the full range of HR managerial roles for staffincluding recruitment and selection, informal stages of the grievanceprocess, disciplinary procedures, attendance management and all appraisals. Thejobholder will communicate effectively with a wide range of key stakeholdersin the service and sensitively, effectively and exercise judgment whendealing with patients. About usTheLeeds and Wakefield Breast Screening service currently provides breast cancerscreening by mammography once every 3 years for a catchment population ofapproximately 50,000 women between the ages of 50 and 70 who are resident inLeeds and Wakefield areas. The serviceis part of the National Breast Screening programme, which utilises a complexcomputerised system to manage the screening programme. The service utilisesmobile screening units to cover the catchment area, and static units atTrinity Centre in Wakefield, St Jamess University Hospital, SeacroftHospital and Wharfedale Hospital. Thefurther assessment of screen detected abnormalities is performed in theBreast Assessment Clinic in Seacroft Hospital. Approximately 50 appointmentsfor assessments are sent out each week. Each woman who attends receives aresult letter, and her GP receives a report on the outcome of screening.
