VANRATH is thrilled to be working alongside a leading Northern Ireland-based company, who are seeking to appoint a Hire Coordinator on a full-time, permanent basis.

Location: Banbridge Office
Hours: Monday - Friday (early finish on Fridays)
Contract: Permanent

The Role

The Plant Asset and Procurement Team are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Hire Coordinator to manage all equipment and asset requirements across projects in Ireland, Great Britain, and Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full hire process - from planning and ordering to delivery and off-hire.

  • Coordinate with site teams to meet project schedules and equipment demands.

  • Maintain accurate records using asset management software and tracking systems (tags/barcodes).

  • Manage all asset-related documentation, including hire logs, inspection reports, and maintenance records.

  • Schedule and monitor maintenance and repairs to minimise downtime.

  • Process procurement requests for equipment, parts, and materials; manage POs and supplier communication.

  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure cost-effective and timely solutions.

  • Identify and onboard new suppliers to improve service quality and pricing.

  • Ensure compliance and maintain audit-ready asset documentation.

  • Oversee the disposal or retirement of assets, ensuring proper documentation is completed.

  • Generate regular reports on hire costs, asset utilisation, maintenance schedules, and supplier performance.

  • Deliver a consistent, high-quality asset management service across all regions.

The Person
  • Proven experience in hire coordination and asset management (preferably within construction or engineering).
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Competent in using CMMS, asset tracking, and barcoding systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working with site teams, vendors, and internal departments.
