We are seeking a dedicated Conveyancing Assistant to support our fee earners with the administration and progression of conveyancing transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of conveyancing processes and a commitment to delivering high-quality support.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Assist the fee earner with the administration of conveyancing transactions.
  • Prepare and provide quotes to potential clients and follow up on instructions.
  • Open files and manage day-to-day correspondence, ensuring prompt action.
  • Request searches and missing documents for purchase files.
  • Send out draft contracts and handle enquiries on sale files.
  • Draft sale completion statements and SDLT returns.
  • Adhere to anti-money laundering procedures and obtain Lawyer Checker reports.
  • Respond to requisitions and handle telephone calls with various stakeholders.
  • Meet with clients to review paperwork and obtain signatures on documents.
  • Manage the exchange of contracts and post-exchange correspondence.
  • Prepare files for completion, ensuring all funds are received on time.
  • Handle post-completion tasks, including SDLT submission and registration at HMLR.
  • Maintain and update case management systems and ensure no deadlines are missed.
  • Record weekly stats for quotes and instructions and strive to meet targets.
  • Assist with office duties, including shredding, post handling, and office shutdown.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of conveyancing processes with a willingness to learn more.
  • Proficient typing skills and PC literacy.
  • Excellent communication skills and a good telephone manner.
  • Strong work ethic and good timekeeping.
  • Compliance with office policies and procedures.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality with the ability to liaise closely with main work providers.
  • Good team player.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Full and valid driving licence.
  • Willingness to learn and take on extra responsibility.
  • Study towards Licensed Conveyancer status.
